The Credit Valley Hospital and Trillium Health Centre announced that they received final approval from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care for the formal merger of the two hospitals on November 30th, with December 1st, 2011 being the first day of operation as a new organization.
The plan merger represents the ongoing relationship built between The Credit Valley Hospital and Trillium Health Centre to support Mississauga, West Toronto and surrounding regions. Both organizations strive for the highest quality of patient care and this merger will allow us to join together to serve our patients better.
“We believe the merger will give us the critical mass to meet the growing demands of our community for years to come,” said Ms. Jagoda Pike, new Chair of the Board of Directors. “In fact, working together, and with careful planning, we will become a world-class, community-based academic health network that delivers the best patient-centered care to our growing community, closer to home.”
The new organization – which will be known as ‘The Credit Valley Hospital and Trillium Health Centre’ until a new name is chosen – will be the largest community-based academic health network in Ontario.
