Syncrude is one of Canada’s largest producers of crude oil from the oil sands of Alberta.  We work to responsibly supply about 15 percent of the nation’s crude oil needs through the operation of technologically advanced oil sands mines, bitumen extraction and upgrading facilities, and utilities plants.  As we go forward, we are planning for further growth. We are located near Fort McMurray, Alberta, with a Research and Development Centre in Edmonton and an engineering office in Calgary.

Syncrude offers an array of employee career development opportunities.  These include:  internal and external training to help employees meet identified training and development objectives (external training such as university or college courses is on company time and expense). For new graduates just starting their professional careers at Syncrude, our Initial Professional Development Program offers a mix of development assignments, plus orientation, mentoring and networking opportunities with management and leaders.
