  • Company

      OTIP began in 1977 when a small group of teachers came together with the idea that the teaching community's insurance needs could be served better collectively. They began by selling long term disability and life insurance to teacher groups in Ontario. Soon afterward, the teacher affiliates joined to officially form OTIP

      Today, that modest organization has grown to over 300 employees and provides a full range of group and individual insurance products to not only the education employees of Ontario, but to other union organizations as well. OTIP is goverened by a board of trustees representing each of the four education affiliates in Ontario (AEFO, ETFO, OECTA and OSSTF).  ...

      OTIP provides a workplace that embraces both the physical and mental health and well-being of our employees. 

      Our Healthy Workplace committee is responsible for maintaining a health-conscious work environment, driving corporate health programs, providing fun and educational wellness initiatives, and supporting the balance between work and family life. For OTIP, October is Healthy Workplace month with weekly events that focus on physical and mental well-being.
